I spent a few minutes setting up some trail running shots with the GorillaPod here and there, and before long I was descending into the trees below the Skookumchuck Junction, where I gave a call home to Liz to let her know I had "cleared" the ridge and was heading towards Garfield. I was a bit ahead of schedule, which was great on one hand, but I also was going to be below the trees just as the sun set, a potential photographer's nightmare!

A bit before Garfield Pond, I met a runner coming the other way, just finishing up a Hut Traverse - he was at the 15 hour mark and looking solid. I wished him luck, he did the same, and we went our opposite ways. The temperature was still perfect for trail running, cool but not cold, with nary a wind.
